 Meet Kevin

Kevin Chapman is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and holds his Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law. He is licensed in North Dakota and Montana.

Kevin Chapman is a native of Williston and has been practicing law in his hometown since 1993, focusing in criminal defense, DUI/DWI, personal injury, and civil litigation, including oil field accidents and wrongful death cases. Admitted to practice in both North Dakota and Montana state and federal courts, Kevin is highly regarded for his legal skills and ethics. After earning his law degree from the University of North Dakota, he gained valuable experience at the Winkjer Law Firm before founding Chapman Law Firm, P.C. in 2000.

With a strong trial background and proven success in the courtroom, Kevin has successfully handled a wide range of cases, from misdemeanors to serious felonies, including numerous high-profile criminal trials resulting in not-guilty verdicts. His dedication to clients and consistent courtroom success, distinguish his firm from others.

Kevin is active in the North Dakota legal system, including serving 8 years on the ND Pattern Jury Instruction committee and being a past Chairman; he has served on the Board of the North Dakota Association for Justice, and as Past President of the NDAJ; and has served on other boards and committees throughout his career.

Beyond his legal practice, Kevin actively contributes to the community through leadership roles in local organizations, including the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, the Toastmasters, as a member of the Finance Committee for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, as well as volunteer work, reflecting his deep commitment to the Williston area. Outside of the office, Kevin enjoys his role as a Board Member for the Williston Aviation Advisory Committee, which is a part of the CTE center of Williston High School. Kevin became a commercial and instrument-rated pilot at the age of 19 and continues to enjoy his passion for flying for both business and leisure.
